Children’s Sunday School Vision Statement - Stacy Lagasse, Children's Minister
It is my greatest desire that the children who visit or attend Children’s Sunday School meet Jesus in some way and discover for themselves a caring, loving Lord who died for them personally. I hope each one accepts Jesus as her/his own Savior and embarks on a pilgrimage that leads them to the very heart of God. I want them to realize that our God is a living God who desires to act benevolently on their behalf and wants to share in even the smallest details of their lives.

At Children’s Sunday School we also want to impart to each of the children the knowledge that they have a special and unique identity in His kingdom. To learn to walk out this identity and to walk in the fullness of our inheritance as priests in God’s temple is something we as adults are still coming to terms with, but I believe children can grasp this concept with greater faith than even adults at times. Each person, young or old and everyone in between, has a valuable place and a destiny in the kingdom of God. Children can be ministers too, and I have seen them minister to one another (and to adults) in amazing ways.

Children’s Sunday School is also a place where foundations are being laid; foundations for a devoted lifelong relationship with Jesus through worship, prayer, and the study of God’s Word. It is my goal that our children would continue to learn to pray effectively, both for themselves and others. Also, that they would continue to learn to worship and praise and find their own means of expressing their love for the Lord. Finally, that they would continue to learn and grow from scripture teachings. We emphasize the basics; Bible verse memory as well as learning the location of the books of the Bible. But as well, I want them to understand that the Bible stories and parables can be applied to their own lives. They are not just good stories, but they have meaning for us personally in the different situations we come across.

Fellowship and friendships are so important. I would like our children to begin to see each other through God’s eyes and to love one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. As I mentioned earlier, they already minister to one another now and we continue to encourage them to pray and care for each other. Allowing time for children to talk, share, and socialize in a positive environment is necessary and we want to continue to provide opportunities for them to do so.

These goals make up the total vision I have for Children’s Sunday School. In the end, I know it is He who will establish the work of our hands. He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in the hearts of each dear one that crosses our path. Ultimately, my reliance is on Him!

Club 56
This club meets every 2nd & 4th Sunday evening of the month from September to June, and is open to all children in grades 5 and 6. Make friends and learn about Jesus. Please bring a friend if you want! Contact the Church office for more information or go to: www.TheWorshipCenterCT.org/Club56.html

Recognizing that nothing happens outside of the knowledge and sovereignty of God, we desire to know the needs of our body, and as instruments of God, meet those needs with love and compassion.

Home Church Ministry

Home Churches gather once during the week in the following towns: Hebron, Marlborough, Willimantic, and Tolland. Click on "Home Churches", which is located in the upper left of the screen in the menu, for more details on days and times of meetings.

Home Church Ministry Vision Statement
The vision for Home Churches is three-fold:

  • The first is to give people a place to develop their spiritual gifts and learn how to walk in God’s calling for their lives.
  • The second is to multiply the Pastor by enabling Home Church Shepherds to pastor less complicated issues and by helping one another to work through applying the Sunday sermons.
  • The third is to grow the congregation by creating an environment to "plug in" new believers and develop intimate relationships within the body.

Each Home Church works this out in its own unique way according to the gifting with which God has equipped each Shepherd.

Men’s Ministry
The men meet on occasion as well as one weekend a year for a local spiritual retreat.

Men’s Ministry Vision Statement
The Men’s Ministry at The Worship Center is based on 1Corinthians 16:13-14: "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love."

It is our desire to build men in Christ who are spiritually aware, know what they believe and why, willing to step out in faith, do the works of Jesus, and display spiritual sensitivity. These qualities are to be displayed as they live out their lives in their families, communities, their professions, and their church.

Whether it is coming together for a special event, attending a retreat or conference together, or just simply hanging out and having fun, we seek to establish meaningful relationships that encourage and edify one another in faith to the Glory of God.

  • Sometimes just having fun or getting away.

Youth Ministry
The Sr. High (grades 9-12) and Jr. High (grades 7 & 8) meet separately on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. The Sunday evening Youth Group meeting is open to grades 7 - 12. Additionally, the groups gather throughout the year for various events, retreats and outings in addition to their regular Sunday meetings. During the summer months, please check the announcements for changes in schedule.

Youth Ministry Vision Statement

At The Worship Center, the youth ministry has a simple vision. We want our kids to know the heart of their God, not just to know that God exists. We want them to truly understand His passion and love for them, and to respond to that love with love. It was for this purpose that we were all created, to know and love our God. Everything else that we do is a result of our relationship with Him.

For a lot of our kids, Christianity is a culture and a system of beliefs that is truly believed, but the intimate relationship that is so vital to lives is misunderstood. It is our desire to break down the walls of a Christian culture and to build a foundation on a relationship with a living God.

Our ministry is not event focused. Yes, there will be trips to fun places, retreats, and fun times together…but the purpose of these events is to build relationships, draw in new people and share in the joy of life as God has given us. The focus of our ministry is on building a true understanding of God’s love. We understand that any relationship requires good communication both expressive (prayer) and receptive (knowing and hearing the voice of God). We want to teach them how to worship in spirit and truth because He alone is worthy to be worshiped. We will spend time in the Word of God so they can see it for what it is, truth, life, and a love letter from a loving God to his Bride. Most importantly, we want to make walking with God an attainable reality for them.

We desire to be an advocate between parents and teens. The relationship between teens and parents is under a tremendous amount of pressure and this is an area that the enemy is fighting to destroy. We believe in encouraging kids to be honest and direct with parents so that you as parents can know their joy and struggles and impart the direction and grace God has so many times imparted to you.
