That in all areas: Worship, Spiritual Gifts, Prayer, and Ministry, we are determined to submit all beliefs and practices to the evaluation of sound biblical doctrine that is found in the final revelation of God’s truth, the Holy Scriptures.
That all we believe and practice is to be centered on the Person of Jesus Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross. This is to be our main focus and emphasis for ministry and practice, with the goal of becoming mature in the love of Christ. We expect the Holy Spirit to be at work to empower us to lay hold of the rich inheritance we have in Jesus Christ our Lord.
That we see the Lord’s desire for us demonstrate the Father’s love through our concern and care, by preaching the gospel and making disciples. We are called to reach out to a lost world with the Salvation, Love, Forgiveness, Mercy, and Grace of God — to fulfill the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ as stated in the following Scripture:
Isaiah 61:1-3 – “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.”
We recognize that there are many creative ways the Holy Spirit may lead us to accomplish this great task, but we’re committed to fulfilling the Great Commission in this place, where Our Lord has called us to establish His Kingdom.
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, light from light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father [and the Son],
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
The Nicene Creed
[English Language Liturgical Commission translation]
We believe that these truths should impact our lives in such a way, so that we live as loving and sacrificial servants in our relationships with one another, relevant and redemptive ministers in the midst of a hurting and lost world.
